How to Find the ICF’s Furring Strips Behind Drywall That’s Already Been Installed?🤔

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀, a magnet type stud finder will detect the drywall screws embedded in the #FurringStrips and will indicate the location of the furring strips.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀, you can fasten to the wall with tap con screws through the drywall and the #ICF foam layer and into the concrete core by at least 1”.
Cut the area of drywall out, replace with flush ½” plywood (in most cases) and fasten the drywall panel to the ICF furring strips. Fasten the heavier item to the plywood panel.
