Geo Technical Applications
Beaver Plastics manufactures several innovative solutions that can used to eliminate geo-mechanical stresses to concrete structures or stabilize earth pressures and soil conditions in many applications. The ability of EPS materials to reduce loads or reduce movement can provide long term solutions with significant cost savings. We’ve developed innovative solutions to answer industry needs and geotechnical requirements.
Geofoam – is closed cell expanded polystyrene normally used as a lightweight fill material in larger earth structures, reducing loads imposed on adjacent and underlying soils that are incapable of supporting transferred loads. Geofoam provides ready and inexpensive solutions to many geotechnical and engineering challenges.
G-TEC is manufactured from inert closed cell expanded polystyrene (EPS) that has been elasticized for use in geo-technical applications. The resulting extended range of flexibility can increase design safety factors for retaining walls, foundation walls, buried pipe, integral abutments and other structures from earth pressures, expansive soils, freeze/thaw, surge loads and seismic activity.
Terrafoam EPS Rigid Insulation – is our white EPS rigid insulation board available in Type I, II, III and IX. Terrafoam Rigid Insulation products are produced from inert closed cell expanded polystyrene (E.P.S.) and have excellent resistance to freeze/thaw, zero capillarity, low moisture absorption characteristics, zero off-gassing and zero loss in R-value over time. Terrafoam EPS Rigid Insulation is available in standard 2ft x 8ft and 4ft x 8ft sheets and from ½” to 48” thickness. Custom sizes are also available.
Terrafoam HS (High Strength) EPS Rigid Insulation – Terrafoam HS (High Strength) Rigid Insulation – is our white EPS rigid insulation board available in high strength (HS) varieties including 25, 30, 40, 60, 80 and 100 psi compressive strength. Terrafoam Rigid Insulation products are produced from inert closed cell expanded polystyrene (E.P.S.) and have excellent resistance to freeze/thaw, zero capillarity, low moisture absorption characteristics, zero off-gassing and zero loss in R-value over time. Terrafoam HS is available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses to meet your project requirements.
