Like many other natural and artificial materials, ICF walls get in the way of radio waves that carry the cellular signal. But luckily, the solution is simple — all you need is a cell signal booster!

A typical cellular signal booster has an outdoor antenna you can mount on the building’s roof, and this will receive radio waves with as few obstacles around as possible.

Next, the signal will travel to the booster inside the building, which will then transmit it to the indoor antenna. The latter then propagates the signal inside your home.

A popular feature of Heat-Sheet is that it can 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝘆/𝘃𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿. However, some builders are hesitant to skip this step. Want to know how a Heat-Sheet installation should detailed to properly eliminate the poly?

First, if you need to protect against #radon, you will still need the layer of poly/ #vaporbarrier.

𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲, 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁-𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁:

✅ Your layer of Heat-Sheet needs to be R10 or thicker and needs to meet or exceed a compressive strength of 25 psi (is Type 3 and Type IX EPS), and
✅ You will need to seal the perimeter of Heat-Sheet layer to footing or the wall and apply vapor barrier tape over any cracks or broken lap joints.

Their new house will be #NetZeroReady and is being built with @logixicf supplied by #CoastRangeConcrete

The #InsulatedConcreteForms make up the walls and the siding is also made of concrete, the roof will be tin, and they will be using an air-to-water heat exchange to heat and cool the building.
